FWS announces critical habitat for Pecos Sunflower

SUMMARY: We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), designate critical habitat for Helianthus paradoxus (Pecos Sunflower) under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (Act). In total, approximately 1,305 acres (ac) (528) hectares (ha)) in Chaves, Cibola, and Guadalupe counties, New Mexico, and in Pecos County, Texas, fall within the boundaries of the final critical habitat designation. This final rule becomes effective on May 1, 2008.
